Dear Mr. Secretary General of FIRS,
As I have already spoken by phone to our President Sabatino Aracu, I was invited by acclamation by all participants at the last General Assembly of the Pan American Confederation of Roller Sports to be a candidate for the Vice Presidency of FIRS for the upcoming period of 2017-2020.
Since then, I was also talking to other continent’s Presidents which were very supportive to my candidacy so, I decided to accept that challenge, which became a worldwide expectation that I will work and do my very best to meet.
Along the past 46 years I have been an International Rink Hockey Player, Coach and Manager. I am the President of the Brazilian Confederation of Roller Sports since 2005 and was just reelected to keep leading it until 2020 throughout the current Olympic cycle for Tokyo 2020 since our Confederation was recognized by the Brazilian Olympic Committee as the newest member of its Olympic family.
I am also the President of the South American Confederation of Roller Sports, an entity with more than 60 years of existence and responsible for the technical aspects of the ODESUR Games which are part of the Olympic cycle in Americas.
As an athlete, I had the opportunity to participate since the true beginnings of the Olympic cycles of the roller sports in my continent. As a roller hockey player I participated in the first ever realized Pan American Games of PASO in Puerto Rico 1979; then in the first ever World Games of 1981 in the United States – these same World Games that will held again, in Poland now in 2017. I also played in the second South American Games of ODESUR in 1982, in Argentina and in several others of these same international events since then.
All these events are played only every four years, as part of the Olympic cycle, which makes their achievements much more valuable to the few athletes who had the chance to be part of them.
I also participated in numerous other South American, Pan American championships as well as in several World championships of FIRS, both as an athlete as well as a Coach and Manager. I also had the opportunity, as President of the Brazilian Confederation, to organize in my country two world championships of two different modalities of FIRS – Artistic Skating and Rink Hockey.
Over the last four years, I have also been member of the FIRS Technical Committee of Rink Hockey working on several of its world championships.
Throughout this experience I have very clear the needs and difficulties of the sport and deep knowledge of its mechanisms, having always sought to lead me mainly from the point of view of the expectations of their sportsmen.
Hence I did not fall here in the sport from parachutes, but rather, I have experienced from within their strengths and virtues but also their weaknesses and longings, since almost five decades.
Due the all above, I am sure that I have enough experience, maturity, credibility and the skills to be part of the Executive Committee, helping FIRS to face those very challenging next four years that we all will have in front of us.
As per the article 18.2 of FIRS statutes, I’m here attaching the needed letters to support my candidacy.
I look forward to meet you in Nanjing hoping that we could have a clean and fair electoral process to show to the whole world that our entity has total transparency and seriousness in its internal processes, especially now that we are participating in the Olympic cycle for Tokyo 2020, so under the attentive eyes of the IOC.
Sincerely,
Moacyr Neuenschwander Junior

Atentamente,
Moacyr Neuenschwander Junior
